Social educators can work in different fields, centres, etc. with different groups:
a) Socio-educational action through Social Services
- Basic social services (educators for general areas, family educators...), childhood and adolescent services (foster families and residences, homes, centers, juvenile services, family meeting points), centres and services for specific groups (centres and shelters for the homeless, day centres for the disabled, homes and residences for the elderly).
b) Socio-educational action for job placement
- Job information and guidance services, preparatory training and vocational programmes, job orientation centers, mediation and assistance for job searches, economic solidarity projects
c) Socio-educational action in the fields of Leisure, Culture and Community development
- Cultural centres, civic centres, city libraries, museums, sports centres, youth information centres, extracurricular school programmes, continuing education centres for adults, clubs and residences for the elderly, youth activity centres, etc.
d) Socio-educational work in the field of civic responsibility
- Work with NGO awareness departments, centres for immigrant assistance, citizen participation departments of town, urban and environmental centres, schools...
